Oleksandra Pavlenko - сounsel to the Head of the Securities and Stock Market State Comission

On May 13, 2010 Oleksandra Pavlenko, attorney-at-law, partner with Pavlenko and Poberezhnyuk Law group was officially appointed to the position of off-counsel to Dmytro V. Tevelev, the Head of the Securities and Stock Market State Commission of Ukraine (SSMSC).

Powers of the counsel to the Head of the SSMSC will include legal analysis of the stock market and recommendations for prevention of possible risks of the securities market participants (including joint-stock companies), participation in the development of regulatory acts and legal expertise of securities and stock market law drafts and other legal issues.

"Our cooperation with the Securities and Stock Market State Commission will definitely be fruitful and beneficial to both parties. In the closest period we are planning to collect the stock market players’ opinions to improve the legislative framework in this field and to make general objective recommendation to the Commission. It is necessary to solve the situation in depository system, make amendments to the Law of Ukraine "On joint stock companies”, etc. I hope that the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine will support our proposals and jointly with the Commission developed concepts of high-priority reforms” - noted Oleksandra Pavlenko, attorney-at-law, partner with Pavlenko and Poberezhnyuk Law group.
